Diploma in Graphic Design at Canterbury, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree, specializing in Illustration, at Exeter, both in England. Pilot student for an exchange program with Bisen College of Art & Design in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, studying traditional and contemporary Japanese arts. Befriended Yumiko Kayukawa, a student at Bisen. Thesis was on Akira Kurosawa's 'Ran'.

After college, wrote reviews of film festivals and Japanese Movies for 'Samhain' magazine. He created a comic book series for 'Mangazine' and 'City X'.

Returned to Hokkaido on the Japan Exchange & Teaching Programme. Wrote and illustrated for Helen McCarthy's magazines, "Anime UK' and 'Anime FX'. Wrote comics and articles for 'Polestar' magazine, a publication for JET programme participants. Wrote and illustrated for the first Japan English Contest. Sidelines included working with some local punk bands, teaching at a gigolo club, studying Okinawan Karate and designing the International Entry at the Sapporo Snow Festival. Traveled around Asia, Europe and the US with some American woman.

Moved to America with said woman. Did more comics for Squidworks, Dark Sphere and others, as well as an ongoing series of illustrations and comics for 'G-Fan' Magazine. Occasional translation of Japanese soundtracks for Silva Screen Records and one or two websites. His first storyboard work was with Red Hand Productions in 2000.
